Nostalgia hit the Maltese esports community like a bolt from a Kar98k this weekend, as Gamers.com.mt celebrated their 5th year of operations by organising an old school LAN event, with tournaments from the old school local favourites: Call of Duty 2, League of Legends and FIFA 17. And what a response from the community! Twelve five-man teams for Call of Duty 2 and ten five-man teams for League of Legends meant that not only was the event full up, but several teams actually missed out.

Players whom the local competitive scene hadn't seen in a while, crawled out of the woodwork to populate the event, and the event was a roaring success, to the extent that people immediately started demanding more - in fact, we have it on good authority that the Malta eSports Festival 2017, which is normally held in November, will also feature Call of Duty 2. Some parts of the community are also requesting a Call of Duty 4 comeback.
